World Food Safety Day 2025
On 7th June 2025, the Department of Pharmacology, Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad, organized a Guest Lecture to mark World Food Safety Day in the Experimental Laboratory. Attended by faculty and AHS students, the session focused on raising awareness about food safety, foodborne illnesses, and drug-food interactions.
Led by faculty members including Dr. Amit Singhal, Dr. Ajay Kestwal, Dr. Sumit Singhal, and Ms. Yogita Nagar, the lecture covered global food safety concerns, WHO’s “Five Keys to Safer Food,” and real-world examples of drug-food interactions like grapefruit juice with statins. The interactive session enhanced student understanding of how food safety directly impacts public health and pharmacotherapy outcomes.
