Milk Bank Awareness & Competition Program
On 28th June 2025, the Department of Hospital Administration, Santosh Deemed to be University, organized a Milk Bank Awareness & Competition Program on the theme “Nurturing Newborns – The Science and Significance of Milk Banking” at LT-3, Santosh Medical College.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of human milk banks in neonatal care. Dr. Alka Agrawal, Dean, Santosh Medical College, delivered an insightful guest lecture covering the science, ethics, and healthcare value of milk banking. This was followed by an interdepartmental awareness competition featuring active participation from students across seven Allied Health Science programs, with 130 attendees and 100 competition participants.
The session enhanced student knowledge, encouraged cross-disciplinary collaboration, and inspired future healthcare professionals to advocate for milk donation initiatives. Plans are underway for a hands-on visit to a milk bank, lactation counseling workshops, and neonatal health campaigns.
