Biomedical Waste Management: Best Practices and Compliance for Pathology Laboratories
On 17th June 2025, the Department of Pathology, Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad, organized a Poster Presentation on the theme “Biomedical Waste Management: Best Practices and Compliance for Pathology Laboratories”. Held in the department's demo room, the event was led by faculty members including Dr. Adreena Mittal, Dr. Swati Singh, Dr. Alka Dixit Vats, Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. Mansi Jain, and SR Jyotika Vats.
Aimed at M.Sc. MLT Pathology students, the session educated participants on proper handling, segregation, and disposal of biomedical waste to minimize infection risks and ensure environmental safety. Around 10–12 students participated, showcasing informative posters on waste management protocols.
Students gained practical insights into safe waste handling, and feedback reflected a positive learning outcome. The program effectively promoted awareness and compliance with biomedical waste regulations in clinical lab settings.
